And in 5 years time, I might not know you

I took these photos late Autumn last year. I was just wondering around town and snapped these…

I’m just a teenage dirtbag, baby

These are a selection of photos I have taken over the last year or so.

There is a photo of my brother: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Izzy-Stephens/257754504244522

And some of my friend’s band: http://www.facebook.com/pages/RageQuit/106870002728877

You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress

These were photos I took for an art project. They were part of my final piece.

To get the colouring I have in these photos I was out at 5 in the morning with my camera and tripod. All of these photos were taken with a 30 second exposure, that’s how I achieved the colours in the sky. I used a remote shutter release to ensure that I wasn’t knocking my camera when pressing the shutter button.

Now in the morning I sleep alone, Sweep the streets I used to own

I haven’t posted on here for quite a while now. I could say that I’ve been really busy and haven’t had the chance, but truth is I just got out of the habit.

These are some photos I took, just as the sun was going down (because I’ve never said that before). I used a polarizing filter and a wide angle converter, the wide angle is what gave me the black frame around my photos.

Singing Sweet Home Alabama, All Summer Long

These are some photos I took last year to promote my brother’s music.

You can find his facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Izzy-Stephens/257754504244522

I got a little bit distracted by the amazing sky when taking these photos. Looking at the photos, I was most probably using a polarizing filter.

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine

This is a photo which I’ve been meaning to post for quite a while. I took it in the end of the summer last year.

I’ve been going through a load of the photos saved to my computer, in the hope of deleting some, because I’m starting to take up quite a lot of memory. But doing this I’ve found lots of the photos I’ve taken in the past, so you may be stuck with these for a while ;)

I’m from the city where the rain won’t cease

I haven’t had much time to take many photos recently. The ones I have taken have been on the run, because I nearly always have my camera on me.

I am currently just starting a project inspired by cities in college, and as it is a 2D project I will be able to take lots more photos without getting behind on my coursework. Lately I’ve been trying lots of different ways of networking my photographs, so it would be great if anyone reading this could post a link to there facebook, twitter or whatever funky social networking site you use. I have a facebook page and a Flickr account, there are links on the side of this page, so if you fancy having a look, please do. I’ll be trying to post more regularly from now on… No promises though…

These photos are of the cathedral in the center of my town. I had decided to take the scenic route on the way home from college, and as I walked passed I noticed that there was some stunning light illuminating the building. I made sure I got a couple of nice shots, before stumbling on home.

Sunday’s on the phone to Monday

Yes, there’s another Beatles song reference in the title of this post… But I do love a bit of the Beatles.

I took these photos on the way back from college. I love taking photos in the dark, I turn my ISO right up, because I love the grainy effect, I think it really helps to add a sense of atmosphere to some photos. Especially photos with a red lighting.

Strawberry Fields Forever

These are photos I took using a macro filter. There was some amazing light when I took these, the sun was shining bright on these flowers. It took me a while to get to grips with using the macro filter. I had to work out the distance away from the flower that my lens had to be for the picture to be in focus. I still haven’t quite perfected it, but there’s always time to learn.

Sweet Dreams are made of these

For the last two years my family have hosted a small Halloween party. My family do tend to take dressing up quite seriously, so a lot of time was spent perfecting costumes and make up. I know that I’ve posted these photos quite a while after Halloween, but as of September I have started college. I am studying for a BTEC in art and design. I’m still getting used to the structure, because having been previously home educated for many years, I’m not used to learning in this way. But none the less, I am definitely enjoying it.

The editing for this photo isn’t quite complete yet. I plan to black out the person behind the girl. I don’t have access to photoshop at the present, so it will have to wait.
